2020 Annual Meeting
Tzedakah Committee Annual Report

The Island Tzedakah Committee had a busy year assisting local organizations and individuals in need.

As we have done for the past few years we gave financial support to the community dinners at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church for the Thursday night dinners. This was in the amount of $750.00.

It was a difficult year for many, so we contributed $972.00 to assistant individuals with their rent, until MV Community Services stepped up with aid during the Pandemic.
We were able to give aid to individuals during emergency situations in the amount of $1,500.00.

From our fund for Helping the Poor on Martha’s Vineyard we were able to assist the Food Pantry in the amount of $550.00, as there was greater need than ever this year.

The total of financial assistance we provided was $3,222.00. We were extremely fortunate to receive contributions totaling $8,165.27. Along with the Fund for Helping the Poor on M.V., we currently (as of end the of May 2020) have a total of $9,761.03 in available funds.

The Committee would appreciate any referrals of organizations or individuals who would like to apply for aid from the Tzedakah Fund. Please contact Rabbi Broitman, myself, or Max Jasny.

Respectfully submitted,
Gayle D. Stiller co-chair
