Religious School 2020 Annual Report
I want to thank all of the parents and students for their hard work and cooperation throughout the school year and especially since our physical closing of the synagogue. It has certainly been more challenging than anything any of us have lived through before. Our staff did exemplary work in the face of these challenges by remote tutoring and maintaining contact with the students. Thank you Marcia Shufrin, Sally Cohn, Rose Herman & Violet Cabot and of course Rabbi Broitman. The rabbi did a marvelous job, in the face of this adversity, preparing two of our students and then officiating at their b'nai mitzvahs and there will be two more in the coming months. After many years of great teaching, leadership, support and friendship to so many of us, Marsha Shufrin will be retiring from our program. She will be deeply missed. At this time I cannot say for sure what our program will look like next year. We always take the lead from the public school system and we don’t know what their approach will be. We are actively working on next year and are preparing for remote tutoring once more if that is the case. Also, my thanks to Amy Crawford in the members of the education committee for their support during this year. Lori Sue Herman, Director MVHC Religious School |
