The Vineyard Committee on Hunger runs two programs helping families in need on the Island:
The Vineyard Committee on Hunger runs two programs helping families in need on the Island:
- Serving Hands operates monthly. It serves the island community in providing food to food insecure families/individuals. This includes the Island Senior Centers and Center for Living. Groceries are donated/purchased mainly through the Greater Boston Food Bank, Island Grown Initiative and local grocery stores.
- Family 2 Family (F2F) is a distribution that happens 3 times a year, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. This distribution provides all the food to make a holiday meal and is funded through monetary donations. F2F serves 200 families and costs $65 per family. With rising costs of groceries, they would welcome checks to offset this increase and continue with this program. Please send check earmarked to Family 2 Family or VCOH P.O. Box 4658, VH, MA 02568.

You can bring a bag of groceries
to the Hebrew Center Lobby, or you can add items at the grocery store while you are shopping and leave them in the Purple Pantry Box. 
If you cannot bring food physically, please make a financial gift. All donations will go directly to the Island Food Pantry on your behalf and on behalf of the Hebrew Center. Island Food Pantry Donations Wish List The Pantry buys many staples, but clients also need items the Pantry doesn't provide. All non-perishable, unopened and unexpired food is appreciated. Healthy Foods Pasta Sauce Salsa Ketchup - Mustard - Mayonnaise Olive Oil - Salad Dressing Dried Fruits & Raisins Salted or Unsalted Nuts/Sunflower Seeds Coffee/Teas Canned Protein (Tuna /Salmon/Chicken) Hearty Soups Crackers Muffin/Cake/Bread Mixes Gluten Free Foods Interesting Cold Cereals Especially for Kids Boxed 100% Fruit Juice Fruit Leather Graham/Animal Crackers Granola Bars Baby Food Other Toothpaste - Toothbrushes Bar Soap - Shampoo Canned/Dry Pet Food Feminine Hygiene Products Incontinence Pads Please consider buying an extra item or two when you go shopping and leave them in the PURPLE PANTRY BOX at checkout!
