The Martha's Vineyard Hebrew Center is Open
In trying to balance the value of the preservation of life and the importance of a close and strong community, and after consultation with health professionals, the Trustees of the Hebrew Center have decided on a plan to continue to remain open to in-person events. Attendance will be restricted to those who are fully vaccinated and wearing medical grade masks (KN95, N95 or KF94) and limited to 75 people. Most events and services will also be available via Zoom.

Our Mission Statement
Our Mission Statement
The Martha’s Vineyard Hebrew Center is the home of Jewish spiritual, cultural, intellectual, and artistic life on Martha’s Vineyard. We are a diverse, inclusive and multi-generational Jewish community informed by the values of liberal Judaism and affiliated with the Union of Reform Judaism (URJ). We support one another as we learn, question, and grow in the richness of Jewish tradition, Torah and mitzvot. As a caring community, we strive to apply values of justice, as described by the Prophets, to global and local issues alike. We seek partnerships with other Island faith communities and organizations to promote the Jewish and universal values of compassion and human dignity for all.

One of my proudest achievements has been my contribution to the Jewish community of Martha's Vineyard. The Hebrew Center has helped to define who I am and enhances my life. I cherish my heritage and the opportunity to serve our community, it is a blessing I do not take for granted. |
