Dear Families,

As we move into the dark, quiet months on the Vineyard, our children remind us of laughter, energy and enthusiasm. We are a joyous community and I always feel that the winter is a time where we become even more connected. This is a great time of year to take advantage of the Fancy/Shmancy Shabbat dinners, musical Shabbats, Shabbat morning services and more. I urge each of you to take these slower paced months to enjoy the rhythms of Jewish time at the Hebrew Center. For our Wednesday Religious School students, I wanted to outline once again the service requirements for each age group. Why is there a service requirement? In order to reinforce what we learn in class, the students simply cannot make the connection to the lessons without coming to services.

     * 3-4th graders- Need to attend at least one Shabbat service per month
     * 5-6th graders- Need to attend at least two Shabbat Services per month
     * 7th graders- Need to attend at least three Shabbat services per month. One service must be a Saturday morning   Torah service.

We keep track of service attendance at Religious School each week. I would also like to remind families to email me if your child will be absent from both Wednesday or Friday school.

Thanks so much for your support!

L'Shalom,
Nicole
