Program Committee The Program Committee
ended the month of August with five fabulous events following the close
of the excellent Summer Institute series of speakers and movies. On August
6th, Joan Nathan held her book signing and bread baking class, on August
19, Marjory and Robert Potts presented their movie, "Frances Perkins,
You May Call her Madame Secretary", August 22, Nora Guthrie spoke
about her father, Woody Guthrie, "Holy Ground" the Yiddish Connection".
On August 26, Robert Brustein read his piece "Puttin on the Spritz"
Humor in Jewish Entertainment and we closed the month with Alan Dershowitz'
reading and book signing of his latest book " Trials of Zion".
Each event was well attended and sponsored by the Program Committee, and
in part by the Development Committee. We thank the Smith's, Hersh's and
Cohn's for their partial sponsorship of the Nora Guthrie's program and
Samuel Feldman for his sponsorship of the Brustein program. If you would
like to sponsor a program, please contact Sally Cohn, Development. |
