Program and Lifelong Jewish Learning

The Program and Lifelong Jewish Learning Committee shall plan, coordinate and execute a variety of quality programs, classes and study groups which further Jewish learning and practice, enrich our souls, challenge our minds, strengthen ties between members of the congregation and promote opportunities for community building with the Island community as a whole.


Save the dates for the new fall class with Rabbi Broitman: "Zionist Thought Then and Now"

We will read and discuss the many different understandings of Zionism in the past 100 years through
reading thinkers both religious and secular, both left and right. We will discuss their impact on Zionist thought and Israeli politics today.

There will be 4 sessions: October 12, 19, 26, November 2 7:00 - 8:30

Registration: You must register in the office and plan on attending all 4 classes unless you get permission from instructor. Friday October 7th is the registration deadline for the class.

Registration--Members: $18; Non-Members--$54

Jewish Authors Book Group

The Jewish Authors Book Club will meet September 21, 11:00 AM at Marjorie Berlow's home in Vineyard Haven. The selection for discussion "97 Orchard Street" by Jane Ziegelman. Call Marjorie for directions at 508-696-0070.

Conversations and Concerns

The Conversations and Concerns group will meet on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at Herb Foster's home in Edgartown.

The Conversations and Concerns group is a, somewhat, support group that meets once a month for lunch and schmoozing. The group also carries out self-directed and group projects for the MVHC.
